Greenpeace - Future Waves Pro

Single-use plastic created today ends up in the ocean tomorrow, affecting the lives of all who rely on it for enjoyment, such as surfers. Despite witnessing the problem firsthand, awareness of the long-term consequences of plastic pollution remains low.

To raise awareness of the future impact of plastic waste on our oceans, Greenpeace will host the "Future Waves Pro" at Melbourne's URBNSURF Wave Pool Park. Surfers will unknowingly compete in a pool filled with 36,000 kg of single-use plastic, representing the amount that enters the ocean daily. This powerful visual will be televised, driving home the urgency to reduce plastic consumption and protect our oceans for future generations.
